Lithium Americas Completes Separation Transaction

On October 3, 2023, Lithium Americas Corp. completed a separation transaction through a statutory plan of arrangement, resulting in the company separating into two stand-alone public companies each listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. Each post-separation public company assumed ownership of one of the two principal business units of the original Lithium Americas Corp., with one company, now named Lithium Americas (Argentina) Corp. (“Lithium Argentina”), holding the Argentina-based business and the other company, who assumed the original name of Lithium Americas Corp. (“Lithium Americas”), holding the North American business assets, including the Thacker Pass project in Nevada.

On October 4, 2023, the common shares of Lithium Argentina and the common shares of post-separation Lithium Americas began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbols “LAAC” and “LAC”, respectively.
