On December 15, 2023, Niyanin Nations LP (a limited partnership consisting of five Indigenous nations) completed a $20.5 million investment in a 15-megawatt cogeneration unit at the Wembley Gas Plant, in the County of Grande Prairie, Alberta, with NuVista Energy Ltd.
The financing of the investment was provided by way of credit facilities with a Canadian bank and a guarantee provided by The Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation.
