Sophie Beaton is an associate in the Business Law Group at Cassels. Sophie’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, corporate finance and general corporate and commercial law. Before joining Cassels as an associate, Sophie summered and articled with the firm. She also maintains a general corporate and entertainment practice that includes assisting clients with drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, business structuring, and corporate governance issues.
Sophie also volunteers with a non-profit organization that provides female entrepreneurs with legal information on corporate matters.
Sophie is a graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. While in law school, Sophie completed the Rotman@Law certificate in finance, accounting and statistics. Additionally, Sophie undertook an externship at the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic in which she dedicated her time to helping women experiencing violence access legal resources.
