Jeffrey (Jeff) Roy is a senior partner in the Business Law Group at Cassels. Jeff is frequently involved in the firm’s most complex and challenging public company mandates. He has extensive experience in advising on public mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity restructurings, proxy contests and other special situations. Jeffrey’s experience in public mergers and acquisitions includes unsolicited bids, going private transactions and arrangements and has included some of the largest mergers and acquisitions completed in Canada. He has advised clients in a variety of sectors including mining, oil and gas, food products, cannabis and gaming. His expertise in corporate and securities law is frequently drawn upon by our litigation and restructuring groups.

  • Goldcorp Inc in connection with their acquisition by Newmont Mining
  • Tahoe Resources in connection with their acquisition by Pan American Silver
  • AGT Food and Ingredients in connection with their going-private transaction
  • Connacher Oil and Gas Limited in its restructuring under the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act
