Osgoode Hall Law School

Mellisa Ing

Mellisa Ing (she/her) is a member of the 2026 summer student class at Cassels. She is a Juris Doctor (JD) candidate at Osgoode Hall Law School and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, with minors in Philosophy and Bioethics, from the University of Toronto.

During law school, Mellisa has been actively involved in advocacy and student leadership. She serves as President of the Asian Law Students Association and has competed as an oralist in several moots, including the Winkler Class Actions Moot and the Frozen Open Osgoode Moot, where she was recognized as a Distinguished Oralist. She has also worked as a Dean’s Fellow and research assistant where she conducted comparative and policy focused legal research in tort law.

Outside of law, Mellisa is a Level 1 Sommelier working toward her goal of becoming a Master Sommelier and enjoys playing pickleball.

Maya Stafrace

Maya Stafrace is a member of the 2026 summer student class at Cassels. She is a student at Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto – Trinity College, graduating with High Distinction with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Peace, Conflict and Justice, along with a minor in Economics. During law school, Maya has been actively engaged in the community and has held multiple leadership roles, including serving as Vice-President of both the Business Law Society and the Immigration Law Society, where she fostered collaboration and brought students together through academic and professional initiatives.

Maya has also been involved with Osgoode’s Community Legal Aid Services Program, where she started as a caseworker and was later promoted to Division Leader in her second year of law school. In this role, she mentored students while independently managing a diverse caseload in immigration matters. Her experience includes leading judicial review applications and handling complex matters involving criminal inadmissibility, humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) applications, and refugee claims for vulnerable clients.

Outside of her legal work, Maya enjoys spending time outdoors, going on walks, attending concerts, and connecting with family and friends.

Olamide Agbontafara

Olamide Agbontafara is a member of the 2026–2027 Articling Student class at Cassels. Olamide is an internationally trained lawyer who previously practised corporate and commercial law in Nigeria. She holds a Master of Laws (LLM.) in International Business Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she received an Award of Excellence.

Prior to joining Cassels, Olamide gained experience advising multinational corporations, startups, and small businesses on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on banking and finance, financial technology, and general corporate advisory. Her work included supporting multi-jurisdictional transactions, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, coordinating due diligence processes, and advising on regulatory compliance. She also gained in-house experience with a Canadian transit technology company, where she supported legal and business operations in a regulated, public-facing industry.

Outside of work, Olamide enjoys exploring new restaurants, experimenting with new recipes, staying active, and capturing food and everyday moments through photography.

Katherine (Katie) Graham

Katherine Graham (she/her/hers) is an associate in the Intellectual Property Group at Cassels. Katie’s practice encompasses all types of intellectual property disputes, including those involving patent, copyright, and trademark issues. Katie recently graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School where she was awarded the IP Osgoode David Vaver Medal for Excellence in Intellectual Property Law and during which time she summered and articled with a boutique firm focused on intellectual property law.

Prior to law school, Katie completed an MSc in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) with Honours from McMaster University.

Hashim Ghazi

Hashim Ghazi is a partner in the Information Technology & Data Privacy Group at Cassels. As a technology and data privacy lawyer, Hashim’s practice focuses on technology and commercial contracting matters, including those relating to the development, provision and implementation of new and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and automation and robotics; data privacy, protection, security, and governance; intellectual property strategy, protection, and enforcement; and legal considerations specific to high growth and emerging companies, including advising on corporate governance, financing, scale-up, growth, and exit strategies.

For his work, Hashim has been recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in Canada and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Canada (CIPP/C).

Hashim currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Technology Law Association (CAN-TECH), and was previously Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Information Technology and Intellectual Property Section Executive. He is an avid supporter of the Canadian emerging technology ecosystem, working closely with founders, investors and stakeholders to provide mentoring and advisory services.

Prior to joining Cassels, Hashim served as counsel at another national law firm; operated as a sole practitioner advising start-ups and entrepreneurial clients in technology, intellectual property, corporate, and media law; and worked at a reputable IP/IT boutique firm.

Madison Skoblo

Madison Skoblo (she/her/hers) was a member of the 2025 summer student class at Cassels and will return as an Articling Student in 2026.
