On September 21, 2023, the National Hockey League’s Board of Governors approved the sale of the Ottawa Senators to an entity controlled by Michael Andlauer. The Ottawa Senators are one of seven NHL franchises based in Canada, and were owned and operated by Eugene Melnyk since 2003, and the Estate of Eugene Melnyk after his passing in 2022.
