Jamie Fraser

Jamie Fraser is the Chief Financial Officer at Cassels. In this role, Jamie is responsible for overseeing all the Financial areas of the firm, while serving as a business partner and trusted advisor to the Managing Partner, various leadership groups and individual partners of the firm.

He brings to the firm over 30 years of experience working predominately in the professional services arena, including senior roles with Allianz and Deloitte and most recently as CFO of Collins Barrow Toronto/RSM Canada, the Canadian member firm of RSM International which is a global network of independent audit, tax and consulting firms.

Jamie has experience leading teams on large scale financial projects, system implementations, acquisitions, transformational and integration activities. Jamie places firm accomplishments first and through collaboration helps to build bridges between Finance and the broader business community for which he supports.

Kim Bonnar

Kim Bonnar (she/her/hers) is the Chief Professional Resources Officer. In this role, Kim oversees the recruitment, development, and retention initiatives for associates and students across all three offices. Kim regularly coaches associates and students on performance, practice management, and professional development, while proactively identifying training and growth opportunities. She brings a strategic, practical and collaborative approach to building strong legal talent. Kim is passionate about promoting diversity, the advancement of women, and wellness in the legal field and is actively engaged in many related initiatives at Cassels.

Following her call to the bar in 2010, Kim practiced employment and labour law at an international law firm before returning to her alma mater, Osgoode Hall Law School, to take up the challenge of running the Career Development Office and establishing the first Experiential Education Office at a Canadian law school.  She spent six years building a professional development program that has been emulated by many law schools across the country and internationally.

Kim has been actively involved with the National Association of Legal Professionals (NALP) for over a decade. She has served in a number of appointed and elected roles, recently as a member of the Advancement & Pipeline Development Work Group and the Nominating Committee. Kim has also completed the NALP Level 1 & 2 Coaching Programs.

Megan Braun

Megan Braun (she/her/hers) is the Senior Director of Paralegals and Law Clerks at Cassels, and also serves as a senior paralegal within the firm’s Business Law Group. In her management role, Megan governs the performance, recruitment and development of the paralegals and law clerks nationally, ensuring an exceptional level of performance and commitment to the needs of our clients. As Senior Paralegal, Megan provides support with respect to corporate due diligence, incorporations, amendments, amalgamations, arrangements, continuances, dissolutions, restorations, tax reorganizations and corporate acquisitions. Her experience has a particular focus on entities in the natural resources sector, having worked with international mining organizations with assets based around the world. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Entrepreneurial Management and extensive experience in corporate law, Megan combines a strong understanding of the business needs of the firm’s clients together with an unwavering level of service to help ensure their success.
