Stephanie Mills (she/her/hers) is the Manager of Discovery Services in the Advocacy Group at Cassels. In this role, Stephanie provides mentorship to the law clerk and paralegals in the firms’ Discovery Services department. She has extensive experience in civil litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property law, franchise law, and class actions. Stephanie focuses on the strategic and efficient preservation, collection and review of evidence, preparation and attendance at discovery and trials, and drafting materials for Court. Stephanie specifically offers experience with the management of evidence as it pertains to discovery and trial preparation and frequently assists in lengthy hearings. In addition, Stephanie uses cutting edge technology such as Artificial Intelligence and Technology Assisted Review to achieve efficient and successful resolutions for our clients.
An honours graduate from the law clerk program at Humber College, Stephanie also holds a B.A. in Political Science from Queen’s University. A Certified e-Discovery Specialist sitting on the Board of Directors for the Toronto chapter of ACEDS, she also participates in several groups affiliated with litigation support and e-Discovery including ILTA, the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario and Women in E-Discovery. In 2009 Stephanie completed a mediation course at York University and in 2013 became a Litigation Support Specialist with the Organization of Legal Professionals. In 2019 Stephanie completed the Copyright Masters class at McGill University and in 2020 she became a Certified e-Discovery Specialist. She has been a law clerk since 2003.
