Florence Lau is an associate in the Business Law Group at Cassels, where her practice focuses on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and securities law matters. Florence represents public and private companies as well as investment dealers in a variety of transactions, including equity and debt financings, go-public transactions, business combinations, acquisitions and private equity investments. She has acted for clients across a range of industries, with particular exposure to cannabis, mining and technology.
Florence is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she received both a B.A. (Honours) in International Relations and History as Gold Medalist and her J.D. Before joining Cassels as an associate, Florence completed summer and articling terms at the firm. She had also spent summers working in policy development at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General and in corporate law in the Beijing office of a multinational law firm.
