Eleanor Wilson (she/her/hers) is an associate in the Intellectual Property Group at Cassels. Eleanor’s practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property litigation. She has experience representing clients across a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals and life sciences, technology, cannabis, and consumer goods.

Eleanor offers particular expertise in patent-related matters, including actions under the Patent Act and the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. She regularly combines her legal acumen with her science background to advocate for clients and find creative approaches to complex issues. Eleanor also provides strategic and practical advice on a range of regulatory matters, life-cycle management of pharmaceuticals, and commercial intellectual property matters.

Eleanor’s representative work includes acting for:

  • Janssen and AbbVie in a patent infringement action relating to Imbruvica (ibrutinib)
  • WhiteWater West Industries in a patent and industrial design infringement and impeachment action relating to water slides
  • Florida Food Products in a patent infringement and impeachment action relating to meat curing
  • Willow Biosciences Inc in a patent infringement and impeachment action relating to cannabis
  • An innovator pharmaceutical company in a patent infringement action relating to a medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes
  • Innovator pharmaceutical companies in a patent infringement action relating to a medicine used to treat opioid overdose
  • An innovator pharmaceutical company in multiple patent infringement actions relating to a medicine used to treat multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes

Prior to joining Cassels, Eleanor was an associate in the Litigation Group of another national law firm, specializing in intellectual property litigation.
