On January 15, 2025, experts, including Cassels partner Brenda Swick, joined together for “Inauguration and Beyond – Framing the Impacts of the New US Presidency,” hosted by The Globe and Mail.
As the US prepares to inaugurate its 47th president, Canada and other nations are preparing for change. This event brought together top political journalists and analysts to discuss what the shifts might mean for Canada and the world.
During a panel exploring “Industry Impacts – New Risks and Opportunities in Focus,” Brenda discussed how businesses can prepare for the tariffs ahead: “You should have your Canadian advisors and US advisors employed, and gather the necessary documentation and rationales you need for product exclusion requests.”
Brenda will also be speaking to a MacKay CEO Forum on “Navigating the Trade Impacts of the Second Trump Administration” on January 22, 2024, in Vancouver. During this session, Brenda will lead a discussion on ways to mitigate the impact of tariffs on business for companies doing significant business with the US.
