On November 8, 2023, Cassels hosted its first annual Independent Sponsor (IS) seminar, entitled “Searching, Winning, and Closing – A Tour Through the M&A Cycle”.
Mickey Lungu chaired the event and moderated the panel that included Andrew Mitchell (TrussPoint Equity Partners), Pete Buttigieg (Pillar49 Capital) and Greg Duggan (Alcorn Partners). The panel provided excellent and informative insight into many topics that both new entrants in the IS ecosystem and veterans of the deal by deal environment continue to grapple with, including how to source deals, addressing and overcoming obstacles leading up to a closing, and post-closing considerations.
The event greatly exceeded expectations, and is a further indication of the rapidly growing IS community in Canada, which Cassels is proud to continue to support.
