Mark and Stephanie presented on the changes and issues to the newly amended Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC) 2-2020 Stipulated Price Contract, how those issues are addressed under the template CCDC 2-2020 supplementary conditions prepared by Cassels, and reviewed new contract provisions based on “lessons learned” resulting from fluctuations in the construction industry and market over the last two years.
Graham and Zach presented on prompt payment and adjudication under the Construction Act (Ontario), how those mechanisms have been implemented since coming into force in October 2019, and what the statistics show about industry use of adjudication.
