Vlad Kolonskyi is an e-Discovery Information Analyst in the Litigation Group at Cassels and an integral member of the firm’s Discovery Services team. Vlad’s ability to identify challenges and solve them by thinking “outside the box” creates opportunities for Cassels to deliver true value to clients. With a passion for finding efficiencies through automation, Vlad offers practical and technical advice to lawyers and case managers regarding the most cost-effective and practical methods for all phases of e-Discovery, information governance and unstructured data analytics. In 2020, Vlad was named a Young Professional to Watch by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA).

At Cassels, Vlad developed an AI-powered review assisting technology that significantly reduces the cost of litigation, various tools and methodologies to manage growing data collections and provides defensible solutions to production sets. In addition, Vlad is continuously developing tools to help streamline repetitive processes and create efficiencies for both internal and external clients.

With a background in development and a flair for innovative problem-solving, Vlad continually implements creative solutions that are integral to the group’s e-discovery operations His efforts include building in-house solutions that have eliminated certain third-party expenses while simultaneously creating efficiencies and increasing client satisfaction.

Vlad began his career in the IT industry, after graduating with a master’s degree of Information Control Systems and Technology from the National Aviation University, Kyiv, Ukraine. Vlad brings over a decade of international software development experience from many sectors including banking, advertising and sales. Prior to joining Cassels, Vlad was working as a senior developer at a Toronto based legal software company.
