Shae graduated with a J.D. from the University of Toronto, where she was actively involved in various leadership roles. For three years, Shae served as Co-President of the University of Toronto’s First Generation Network chapter, advocating for and mentoring law students who, like herself, were the first in their families to attend post-secondary education. Throughout law school, Shae also contributed to Ultra Vires, the Faculty of Law’s independent student newspaper, which culminated in her tenure as Co-Editor-in-Chief during her final year of law school. Highlights of Shae’s law school experience include gaining hands-on legal experience as a student caseworker at a community legal clinic in Toronto and spending a semester abroad at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland.

Before attending law school, Shae graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Calgary, earning a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Biomedical Sciences. Shae then worked for Residence Services at the University of Calgary, managing on-campus student housing occupancy, drafting housing contracts, revising residence conduct policies, and adjudicating cases of student non-academic misconduct.

In her spare time, Shae enjoys snowboarding, digital and film photography, and discovering new wines. Shae holds a WSET 2 qualification with distinction from the Independent Wine Education Guild.
