Rebecca Slater (she/her/hers) is a member of the 2025-2026 Articling Student class at Cassels and is based in the Calgary office.
Rebecca earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary, where she participated in a law exchange at the University of Copenhagen. During law school, she was actively involved in student life, serving as Vice President Events for the Health Law Association and volunteering with Pro Bono Students Canada on projects related to animal law and legal education.
Prior to law school, Rebecca completed a Bachelor of Science Honours in Animal Biology at the University of British Columbia, including an exchange term at the University of Edinburgh. She has diverse professional experience, including founding and operating a pet travel consultancy, working in veterinary clinics and customer service roles, and working as a summer student at Cassels in 2024.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys travelling, baking cookies, and getting cozy with a good book.
