Rayna Middleton

Rayna Middleton is an associate in the Litigation Group at Cassels. Rayna received her JD from Western Law, where she was a Dean of Law Scholarship recipient. While in law school, Rayna competed in several oral advocacy and negotiation competitions, including representing Western Law in the Wilson Moot, and serving as the student coach for the 2022 Western Law Davies Corporate/Securities Moot team, which took 1st place. She also served as Student Coordinator for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC), where she worked as a mediator for community disputes and facilitated the DRC intern mediation and negotiation training program. Prior to joining Cassels as an associate, Rayna was both a summer and articling student with the firm.

Before joining Cassels, Rayna spent a summer working in legal research, in the areas of bankruptcy and mining law. Before entering law school, Rayna completed a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree at the University of Guelph, studying Microbiology and Philosophy. During her time as an undergraduate student, Rayna worked in research with a Professor in the Philosophy and Integrative Biology departments.

When she’s not working, Rayna can be found sketching, trying a new California Cabernet Sauvignon, or hanging out with her dog Oakley.
