Peter Voltsinis (he/him/his) is an associate in the Municipal, Planning & Environmental Group at Cassels. Peter’s broad practice focuses on land use planning matters, development approvals, and expropriations law. He acts for developers, landowners, municipalities, other public entities, and large retail and restaurant franchises.

Peter regularly advises on all aspects of the land development and expropriation process in Ontario, including by advising those affected by the construction of public works where no land is taken. Peter also regularly assists clients in litigation arising from municipal and planning law matters. He has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Provincial Offences Court, the Ontario Land Tribunal, and Committees of Adjustment.

Prior to joining Cassels as an associate, Peter was both a summer student and an articling student at the firm. He graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law with distinction. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Peter graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Planning (Honours), achieving the highest academic standing in the program.
