Omar Hamed is a member of the 2025-2026 Articling Student class at Cassels. Omar completed the University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy Dual JD program, where he was awarded the Transactional Drafting Book Award.
During law school, Omar completed an externship with the City of Detroit in the Mayor’s Office, and worked closely with the International Intellectual Property Law Clinic. He also competed in the Davies Corporate Securities Law Moot, the Tulane Professional Basketball Negotiation Competition, and the Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot Court Competition.
Prior to law school, Omar earned his Master of Business Management with high distinction from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Shortly after his Master’s studies and before starting law school, Omar was a consultant at a Big 4 financial firm in Toronto.
In his free time, Omar enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding, and cooking.
