Nathan White is an associate in the Litigation Group at Cassels. Nathan’s practice focuses on complex contractual disputes in a broad range of commercial, financial, energy, and construction related matters. He has appeared before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, and in various alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitrations and mediations. Some of Nathan’s non-confidential matters include:

  • Representing Chemtrade Electrochem Inc. at trial and obtaining a $25 million judgment, plus costs and interest, against Superior Plus Corporation in respect of dueling claims for termination fees;
  • Representing TAQA Drilling Solutions Inc. at trial and on appeal and obtaining a $28.5 million judgment, plus costs and interest, against Yar Holdings Inc. in respect of competing claims over funds held in escrow;
  • Successfully defending a multinational steel manufacturer against an application for a pre-trial attachment order (as lead counsel);
  • Defending ConocoPhillips, Statoil, Anadarko, et al, in multi-million dollar disputes with Geophysical Service Inc. over seismic data use and fees; and
  • Obtaining a temporary injunction for Corus Radio Inc. in the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.

Prior to joining Cassels, Nathan articled and practised with another national firm.
