Michael Saliken is a partner in the Capital Markets Group at Cassels, where he leads complex transactions across the energy, technology, artificial intelligence, life sciences, and venture capital industries. With over 15 years of experience advising private and public companies, Michael acts for investors, founders, and boards on M&A, corporate governance, VC & PE financings, public listings, and corporate governance matters.
Michael builds lasting partnerships with his clients, ranging from emerging startups to large-cap enterprises, by taking the time to understand business objectives and delivering practical, high-value advice that drives results.

- Haywood Securities in respect of the $80mm Coelacanth Energy Inc. Bought Deal Offering
- ResolvMD Inc. in respect of its strategic financing
- Haywood Securities in respect of the $16mm Petrus Resources Inc. LIFE Offering
- University of Alberta Innovation Fund, in respect of various governance and investments by the University of Alberta
- Seegnal Inc., in respect of its RTO on the TSXV
- Dynasty Power Generation Inc., in respect of its acquisition of the 50MW Poplar Hill Powerplant
- DP Energy, in respect of the sale of its 325MW solar development to the City of Medicine Hat
- Psygen Industries, in respect of its Series A preferred share financing
- Arcus Power, in respect of its Series A-2 preferred share financing
- Free Agent, in respect of all corporate matters
Before joining Cassels, Michael practiced for over 15 years at a leading national firm, where he co-founded the firm’s Psychedelics and Cannabis Focus Group and served on several national steering committees.
Outside of his practice, Michael serves as a dedicated board member of CUPS Calgary Society, one of Canada’s top 10 impact charities, supporting individuals and families to overcome poverty and trauma.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance, with Distinction) from the University of Calgary.
