Kyla Ronneberg

Kyla Ronneberg is an associate in the Litigation Group at Cassels. Prior to joining Cassels as an associate, Kyla previously articled and was a summer student with the firm.

Kyla received her JD from the University of Alberta in 2023 with distinction. Prior to joining Cassels, she articled at the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta.

During law school, Kyla participated and placed in several moots, including the Sopinka Cup, the MacIntyre Cup, the Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Law Moot, and The Right Honourable Writing Fellow Moot, in which she argued cutting edge legal issues in front of a packed court of first year students. Additionally, she co-founded the Elite Acting Club LLP, a club dedicated to using performance art to elevate legal storytelling and advocacy.

Kyla received the Gordon Wright QC Memorial Award, the Norman J. Pollock Q.C. Prize in Advocacy, the SB LLP Award in Law, the Dean Duckett Prize in Insurance Law, and the Ken Boyd Prize.

Before law school, Kyla graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She worked in industry, obtaining her P. Eng designation.
