Janice Yuen is a law clerk in the Intellectual Property Group at Cassels, with extensive experience in the full cycle of trademark prosecution under the Trademarks Act and associated regulations, including matters before the Trademarks Opposition Board and expungement proceedings. Janice is also experienced in the copyright filings and is actively involved in the management of international trademark portfolios. Janice also assists in conducting preliminary trademark searches in Canada and the US. In addition, Janice brings experience as an IP litigation clerk in matters before the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal.
Janice is an Associate member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario, and was the recipient of the 2018 Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario’s Award for Excellence in Fellowship in relation to the Advanced Trademarks & Copyright (IP) Fellowship course. She is also certified by the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada as a Certified Canadian Trademark Administrator (CCTA).
