Jamie Arabi is an associate in the Litigation Group at Cassels. Jamie maintains a broad commercial litigation practice and has represented clients before all levels of court in Ontario and in arbitration proceedings. He approaches disputes practically and considers his clients’ immediate and long-term goals throughout.
Jamie has acted in matters involving corporate disputes, misrepresentation, defamation, franchise disputes, commercial real estate, construction, and product liability, among others. Jamie also advises clients on regulatory issues and on various aspects of corporate transactions, drawing from his international corporate law experience.
Jamie’s representative work includes:
- Representing a cannabis retail firm, as respondent, in successfully opposing an application to set aside an arbitral award rendered in its favour
- Advising a leading, global elevator company in its acquisition of a local elevator company in Ontario
During law school, Jamie was a researcher with the University of Ottawa’s international economic law clinic, which forms part of the Geneva-based TradeLab network. He also completed an internship at a global law firm in Dubai and was a founding member of Ottawa’s Middle Eastern Law Students Association (MELSA).
Prior to joining Cassels, Jamie served as an associate at a full-service law firm in downtown Toronto.
