02/26/2018

The Cassels Black Affinity Group, through the Inclusion and Diversity Committee, purchased over 100 tickets for various youth organizations in Toronto, Vancouver & Calgary for a screening of Marvel’s Black Panther film – increasing the opportunity for youth to see this groundbreaking movie.

On February 24 and 25, 2018, Cassels Brock provided complimentary tickets to members of the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough. Firm members Suhuyini Abudulai, Peter Sullivan, Patience Omokhodion, Carla Potter, Paula Brown-Rankin, Varuna Soondar and Rhonda Upshaw were on hand to welcome the movie goers. Vancouver and Calgary events will take place in the near future.

Suhuyini (Chair of firm’s Black Affinity Group) spoke with CityNews about the initiative, the importance of this film and why representation matters.
