Noble C. Chummar Reappointed to the LCBO Board of Directors

10/06/2021

Cassels is pleased to congratulate our partner, Noble Chummar, on his reappointment to the Board of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario for a fourth term by the Premier of Ontario through a provincial cabinet Order in Council dated September 23, 2021. Noble, who is currently the longest serving Director at the LCBO, will also resume his role as Chair of the Audit Committee.

The LCBO is an Ontario government enterprise with over 9,000 employees and is one of the world’s largest buyers and sellers of beverage alcohol. Through a network of 677 retail stores and an additional 395 agency/convenience outlets, the award-winning retailer provides efficient, knowledgeable, and socially-responsible service for consumers and licensed establishments. The LCBO sales are over $6B, resulting in a well over $2B dividend to the Ontario government, not including taxes. These revenues help pay for important government services, such as health care, education, and infrastructure.

Noble currently serves as Deputy Managing Partner of Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. He is a graduate of The London School of Economics and Osgoode Hall Law School and is also a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
