David Budd has been recognized by the Association of Women in Finance at the 2022 PEAK Awards, receiving this year’s Champion Award.
The Champion Award honours a professional of influence – male or female – who furthers the advancement of women in finance for leadership positions in management or on boards; has sponsored women in finance, putting their reputation on the line to advocate for change and the advancement of women; has seen women that they mentored progress into positions of leadership; and is actively involved in their own professional or personal communities.
Over more than two decades at Cassels – including in his current role as Deputy Managing Partner – David’s impact has inspired lasting and meaningful change. He has been instrumental in advancing women to leadership positions at the firm, is dedicated to training and mentoring others, was an important influence in launching the Cassels Black-Owned Business Grant program and the firm’s Mental Health Awareness program, and was instrumental in the growth of the firm’s Vancouver office. He is willing to use his voice to elevate others, and is committed to ensuring that diversity, compassion, and opportunity are at the forefront of every decision made on the way to building a more inclusive Cassels for all.
