11/02/2023

Cassels is pleased to announce that Brian Temins and Samantha Prasad have joined the firm as partners in our Toronto office. Recognized as leaders in their fields, Brian will join our Business Law group while Samantha joins our Tax Law team.

Brian Temins’ practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions with an emphasis on growth-oriented businesses. Brian also advises emerging companies, including numerous technology clients. He concentrates on acquiring a clear understanding of the client’s business objectives and then creates solutions to achieve those objectives. This allows Brian to provide a thorough legal solution in all phases of a transaction as well as advise on day-to-day business matters and long-term strategic goals.

Samantha Prasad’s practice focuses primarily on corporate, international, and high-net worth tax planning. Samantha’s clients vary from multi-national corporations to family business owners/managers. As such, her practice is varied to include tax aspects of corporate finance, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, as well as comprehensive business succession planning and international structures. Clients appreciate Samantha’s ability to set up tax-efficient structures and explain complex issues in everyday terms.

Says Kristin Taylor, Managing Partner: “This is an exciting move for our firm and, most importantly, our clients who will benefit from Brian and Samantha’s expertise and network. They are outstanding practitioners who enhance our existing team here at Cassels.”

Brian and Samantha added that they are “thrilled to be joining the first-rate team at Cassels and look forward to having the opportunity to provide a full range of legal services to our clients from Cassels’ impressive national platform for many years to come.”
