Casey Chisick was interviewed by CBC regarding music copyright laws for a piece titled “Taylor Swift’s Feud with Former Record Company Heats up Over Award Show Performance.”
The piece looks at the dispute between Taylor Swift (who claims that her former record label won’t allow her to perform her old songs at the American Music Awards) and Big Machine Records (which accuses Taylor of using her fan base to endanger its employees).
While appealing to her fans may not get Taylor her masters back, says Casey, it could buy her more freedom to perform what she wants at the AMAs. In short, notes Casey: “I would never bet against Taylor Swift.”
