Bernice Karn Discusses Privacy Rights and ‘Pickup Artists’ with the Toronto Star


Bernice Karn was recently quoted in the article “Women Secretly Recorded by Toronto Pickup ‘Artists’ Have Little Means to Fight Back,” published in the June 19 edition of the Toronto Star.

Writes Emma McIntosh: “As nasty of a surprise as it may be to find a secretly recorded video of you posted online, there’s very little that women in them can do about it…. But recording someone in public space isn’t illegal.”

“Though a civil case might be possible, it would be difficult to win,” says Bernice. “The behaviour would have to be fairly outrageous for there to be any likelihood of success.”
