Thomas Isaac, Brian Dominique and Arend Hoekstra Among Expert Faculty at 9th Annual Aboriginal Law Course

There has never been a more important time to refresh or familiarize yourself with Canadian Aboriginal law.

On November 30, 2017, Thomas Isaac will be Course Leader for the 9th Annual Aboriginal Law Course presented by Lexpert. Tom will be joined by a faculty of experts in the field including our own Brian Dominique and Arend Hoekstra.

This course aims to provide a complete understanding of the changing landscape and obstacles within this area of expertise by providing an in-depth Aboriginal and consultation case law review; a discussion on the federal government’s “Principles Respecting the Government of Canada’s Relationship with Indigenous Peoples”; best practices in consultation and implementing agreements with Aboriginal Groups; a discussion of the UN Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples impact on resource development; and an update on Northwest Territories.

The course is fully accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Barreau du Quebec and the Law Society of Alberta and has been specifically designed for senior executives, directors, managers and corporate counsel in industries including: oil & gas, power generation; mining, forestry, land & property development as well as provincial and federal government officials and legal counsel practicing Aboriginal, Energy, Environmental, Natural Resources, Property or Constitutional Law.
