Andrew Dilts provided a 2.5 hour presentation on M&A in the “search fund” model, focusing on vendor transitions as part of the deal structuring and post-closing process. The presentation was part of the inaugural 10-day M&A bootcamp offered by Black Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition Incubator (BETA-i), the first Canadian and first Black-targeted search fund accelerator. From BETA-i’s description: “[w]e envision a world where African-Canadian entrepreneurship is robust and profitable. To do so, we provide Black entrepreneurs with a systematic process for the acquisition of private, small-to-medium size businesses, which historically have a substantially greater probability of profitable, entrepreneurial success than the riskier creation of start-up enterprises.” This event took place on August 9, 2021.
