Sky Shin

Sky Shin (she/her/hers) is a member of the 2025-2026 Articling Student class at Cassels. She earned her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University, along with a Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law. During law school, she received the John V. O’Dea Academic Prize and the International Association of Korean Lawyers Scholarship. Prior to law school, Sky graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations. Before pursuing her legal education, she gained experience working as a legal assistant at both a boutique law firm and a Crown corporation in Vancouver.

During her time at Dalhousie University, Sky served as Co-Chair of the Business Law Association of Dalhousie and was a student member of the law school’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee. She gained hands-on legal experience by supporting the Nova Scotia Legal Aid on a pro bono project and completing a public law placement as a law clerk at the Nova Scotia Securities Commission. Outside of her academic and legal pursuits, Sky is actively engaged in community work as a committee member of the Korean Canadian Lawyers Association’s BC chapter.

Sky is fluent in Korean and enjoys spending her free time traveling, exploring new restaurants, and practicing Pilates. She previously worked with the firm as a summer student.
