Rounaq (Ron) Khoja is a law clerk and member of the 2025 Articling Student class at Cassels and has a strong focus on trademark prosecution and litigation case support. Rounaq has comprehensive legal knowledge of Canadian and global IP prosecution rules and regulations, providing critical support in all pre- and post-registration matters including clearance searches, examination opinions, response filing, and routinely liaising with foreign counsel. Rounaq has worked extensively on matters before the Trademarks Opposition Board, Federal Court, and Federal Court of Appeal. Rounaq has also played a key role in supporting high profile litigation matters, assisting with case strategy, legal research, and the preparation of critical documents.
Having obtained an LL.B. Honours degree from the University of Edinburgh, Rounaq is currently pursuing qualification to become an associate, and has completed the NCA certification process. Rounaq is also an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and a certified Commissioner for Taking Affidavits.
Prior to joining the Cassels team, Rounaq worked as an associate in corporate and IP in a prominent international firm, with a focus on litigation, including conducting in-depth case analyses, preparing court files, compiling evidentiary documents, and appearing before the High Court.
