Ross Ramgoolam is a partner in the Real Estate & Development Group at Cassels, where he represents institutional lenders, investors, developers, and asset management companies in complex commercial real estate transactions. His practice spans acquisitions and dispositions, secured lending, commercial financing, leasing, and development initiatives involving office, industrial, retail, multi‑residential, hospitality, and specialized‑use properties.
Ross has extensive experience acting for institutional lenders on Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) insured lending, with a particular focus on multi‑residential portfolios and development projects. He advises on CMHC‑backed term loans, construction financing, take‑out facilities, and refinancing structures, ensuring clients navigate program requirements efficiently while achieving optimal capital outcomes.
In addition to his lending work, Ross also has experience advising governmental agencies on the acquisition, disposition, and redevelopment of vacant, residential, industrial, and commercial lands.
Ross earned his B.A. (Honours) from York University and his J.D. from Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating magna cum laude. He is licensed to practice in both Ontario and New York and is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
