Rider Kahl

Rider Kahl (he/him/his) is a member of the 2024-2025 Articling Student class at Cassels. Rider was previously a summer student with the firm.

Rider received his JD with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2024. During law school, Rider was the Executive Creative Director for Law Show, an annual musical performance to raise money for local Edmonton charities. Rider also acted as Vice President- Academics for the Law Students Association.

Rider received the Dr. Alexander Smith QC Prize in the Subject of Contracts, the Adams Trust Oil & Gas Prize, and the Honourable Constantine Kosowan Award.

Prior to law school, Rider graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Western University in sociology and criminology where he advocated for student employee’s mental health. He also achieved a Master of Public Policy from the University of Calgary which focused on government investment in the venture capital market.

In his free time, Rider enjoys kickboxing, yoga, and enjoying Calgary’s beautiful walking paths.
