Kamryn Wiest

Kamryn Wiest (she/her/hers) is an associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency Group at Cassels. Kamryn was a member of the 2024-2025 Articling Student class at Cassels and previously summered with the firm. Kamryn received her JD from the University of Alberta, where she graduated with distinction.

During law school, Kamryn acted as tribune for the University Student Union’s Discipline, Interpretation, and Enforcement Board. She also coordinated the musical acts for Law Show, a musical theatre production created and presented by law students for charity, as Singing Director.

Before law school, Kamryn graduated on the President’s Honor Roll from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in General Management. She served as Vice-Chair on Special Olympics Medicine Hat’s executive committee. Kamryn also started Medicine Hat’s first Special Olympics’ basketball team as head coach.

Kamryn received various awards throughout her time in school including the Abe W Miller Memorial Prize in Criminal Law, the FR (Dick) Matthews Excellence Scholarship in Law, and other community service and leadership awards.

Outside of work, Kamryn enjoys golfing, playing card games, and spending time with her family.
