Jay Lalach (he/him/his) is the Assistant Director of Professional Resources – Calgary at Cassels. In the role, Jay oversees the Calgary office’s student and associate programs, assisting with recruitment, professional development, mentoring, and career advancement initiatives. Working closely with office leadership and the Professional Resources team, Jay helps develop strategies that attract, support, and retain exceptional legal talent while fostering a team oriented, service focused environment.
Drawing on over 20 years of private practice experience as an energy lawyer along with practical industry insight, Jay is driven by the goal of helping students and emerging lawyers navigate the transition from law school to practice. He takes pride in creating opportunities for growth, helping individuals achieve their career goals, and contributing to the development of the next generation of legal professionals.
