Cassels is very proud to announce that Jane Dietrich has been appointed a Judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto.
Jane has been a partner at Cassels for over 10 years after starting her career at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP. Throughout her over 20 years in private practice, Jane has been repeatedly recognized as a leading Canadian practitioner in the areas of insolvency, restructuring, and broader commercial litigation by numerous publications including Chambers, Benchmark Litigation, Best Lawyers in Canada, Lexpert, and IFLR1000. Jane became a fellow of INSOL International in 2010, she was a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and the International Insolvency Institute, has been a regular contributor to continuing professional development programs, and was formerly an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Law School.
At Cassels, Jane has served on and chaired various key committees within the firm, including the Women’s Practice Development Committee, and was the Deputy Chair of the Financial Services Group. Her leadership, mentorship, and commitment to excellence within the Financial Service Group, to her clients, and across the firm has been unwavering and inspirational for students, associates, and partners alike over the past decade.
