Casey Chisick Appointed to Inaugural Advisory Board of York University Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Society

Casey Chisick has been named an inaugural member of the Advisory Board for York University’s new Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Society (CAIS).

CAIS unites researchers at York who are collectively advancing the state of the art in the theory and practice of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, governance and public policy. Its systems approach places emphasis on how AI technologies operate when embedded in real-world contexts, interacting with humans and other technologies. Its research focuses on AI systems that address societal priorities in health care, smart cities, and sustainability, and are fair, explainable, reliable and trusted.

The members of the CAIS Advisory Board have deep and varied experience in the technological, entrepreneurial, legal and governance foundations of AI, as well as key application areas of health, mobility and sustainability.
