Lilly Callender (she/her) is a member of the 2025-2026 Articling Student class at Cassels. Lilly is a recent law graduate with a background in advocacy, legal research, and international human rights. She served as Director of Advocacy for the Black Law Students’ Association (UBC Chapter) and Associate Editor of the UBC Law Review. Through the UBC International Human Rights and Justice Clinic, she contributed to research involving Canadian mining companies and traveled to Brazil to gather witness testimony for a submission to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. She also was a research assistant to three professors in mining law, tort law, and residential tenancy law.

Prior to law school, Lilly earned a degree in International Relations with a focus on Economics. She worked as a consultant conducting internal audits to improve workplace policies and diversity and co-founded a non-profit journalism platform highlighting underreported global issues.
