Chris Hersh is a partner in the Competition & Foreign Investment Group at Cassels. Chris provides practical, strategic counsel to clients on all aspects of competition law, including mergers and acquisitions, criminal matters, abuse of dominance, marketing and advertising, as well as pricing and distribution issues. In addition to working with clients on transactional and advisory matters, Chris regularly advises clients involved litigation before the Competition Tribunal and in price fixing class actions, as well as in connection with Competition Bureau investigations.

Chris also has expertise working with foreign clients to obtain approvals under the Investment Canada Act, as well as to successfully navigate the Canada’s complex national security review regime.

In addition to his practice, Chris regularly writes and speaks in Canada and abroad on all aspects of competition law. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Western University Law School and as a guest lecturer at the Osgoode Hall Law School LL.M.  and Queen’s University economics program. Additionally, Chris is active in the CBA Competition Law Section and is a Vice-Chair of the Corporate Counsel & Compliance Committee. In addition, Chris is active   the ABA Antitrust Section and the IBA Competition Law Section (serving as the Canadian representative to the International Bar Association’s working group on European private enforcement of competition law and co-chair of the Private Enforcement Working Group).
