Carlo Rescigno is a member of the 2026-2027 Articling Student class at Cassels, where he began his legal career as a 2025 Summer Law Student in the firm’s Toronto office. Carlo holds three degrees from Western University: a Juris Doctor, an Honours Business Administration from the Ivey Business School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He graduated law school on the Dean’s Honour List with class standing among the top 15 graduates.
Beyond the classroom, Carlo was engaged in advocacy and extracurricular leadership. He served as Managing Editor for Volumes 49 and 50 of the Canada-United States Law Journal, and as Researcher in the 2026 Adam F. Fanaki Competition Law Moot, earning recognition for the Best Respondent Factum alongside his teammates. Carlo also performed as a lead tenor in a number of Western Opera productions, and served as the Vice President of Finance for the Don Wright Faculty of Music Students’ Council.
Prior to his time at Cassels, Carlo served as a Research Assistant, where he studied the impact of linguistic principles on statutory interpretation under the instruction of his property law and constitutional law professors. He also interned at a global financial institution, covering North American regulatory developments on a nearshore basis for the firm’s Montreal and New York legal and compliance functions. In his free time, Carlo enjoys working on his musicianship with friends, perfecting his focaccia recipe, and catching the latest A24 film in theatres.
