Suhuyini Abudulai will be presenting “Consumer Finance Basics in the U.S. and Canada: A Comparative Perspective” at the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services Committee’s winter meeting on January 8, 2018. Given the transnational reach of creditors and technology, companies (and their counsel) must increasingly be aware of cross-border compliance issues and developments. This program will provide an interactive overview on key areas of consumer financial services law, comparing the laws of the United States and Canada. Areas covered will include prepaid/gift cards, reward programs, lending disclosure, privacy/spam, unfair and misleading practices, and credit reporting.
