Sophie Moher (she/her/hers) is an associate in the Banking & Specialty Finance and Restructuring & Insolvency Groups at Cassels. Sophie’s practice focuses primarily on international and domestic corporate restructurings with a particular emphasis on cross-border commercial restructurings, including proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as informal restructuring proceedings. Sophie gained valuable experience through a secondment at Tenor Capital.
Sophie graduated from the J.D./M.B.A. program at Queen’s University. During her M.B.A. studies, Sophie had the opportunity to help a start-up company producing Continuing Legal Education materials with their marketing initiatives. In her M.B.A. program, she was awarded the Noranda Sales Corporation/William G. Deeks Award in strategy.
Sophie graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Psychology. During her undergraduate degree, she played on the McGill varsity rugby team and spent a semester at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Before joining Cassels as an associate, Sophie summered and articled with the firm.
