Natalie Thompson (she/her/hers) is an associate in the Restructuring & Insolvency Group at Cassels. Natalie first joined the firm as a summer student in 2020 and was as a member of the 2021-2022 Articling Student class. Natalie earned her JD from the University of Alberta, where she was an executive member of the Energy Law Club and an active member of the 2021 Graduation Committee. Natalie was one of four students accepted for a public interest litigation internship with the Canadian Constitution Foundation taking place over the 2019-2020 academic year. During her time in law school, Natalie also volunteered for civil and family law division of Student Legal Services, servicing the low-income communities of Edmonton. Natalie has continued her commitment to community service through service on the Board of Directors for the Better Days Foundation of Calgary.

Prior to law school, she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Calgary. Natalie was on the Dean’s List during her time at the Haskayne School of Business. She was an active member of student life during her undergraduate degree, serving on the executive committee of the Association of Risk Management and Insurance.

Natalie is an accomplished athlete, competing at the national level in both volleyball and basketball. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and staying active.
