Morgan Burris (she/her/hers) is a partner in the Litigation Group at Cassels. Morgan practises complex commercial litigation and supports the firm’s Aboriginal Law and Entertainment & Sports Law Groups. In addition to Aboriginal title and treaty claims, she has experience representing clients in construction, environmental, intellectual property, film and television, and shareholder disputes, and has assisted clients across Canada, including in British Columbia, Alberta, New Brunswick, Ontario, and the Yukon.

An accomplished litigator, Morgan regularly represents clients in commercial arbitrations, and has appeared at all levels of provincial and federal courts, including the BC Supreme Court, the BC Court of Appeal, the Yukon Supreme Court, the Yukon Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Appeal. She has also appeared as counsel before administrative tribunals such as the Federal Competition Tribunal.

Prior to pursuing a career in law, Morgan studied mechanical engineering at Queen’s University and worked in manufacturing and mechanical building design. Before joining Cassels, she served as a member of the litigation and construction law teams based in the Vancouver office of a global firm.
