Melissa Montana

Melissa Montana (she/her/hers) is a member of the 2021-2022 Articling Student class at Cassels. Melissa graduated with Distinction from the J.D. program at the University of Toronto. At law school, Melissa was an active member of her student community as Co-President of Women & the Law and by working at the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights as a clinical student. Over the summer of 2019, Melissa interned at the National Hockey League Players’ Association. In this role, she was responsible for drafting legal briefs for salary arbitration and preparing materials for players to use in their contract negotiations with various NHL clubs.

Melissa received her Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Honours Political Science from McGill University. During her time at McGill, she founded the McGill Chapter of Women in International Security Canada. Prior to attending law school, Melissa spent three summers working in the Investigative Services Department at the Toronto Transit Commission.

In her spare time, Melissa enjoys HIIT workouts, cooking, hiking and reading.
