Carey Veinotte* is a partner in the Litigation Group at Cassels and is Co-Chair of the firm’s national Commercial Litigation and Arbitration team. Carey offers 33 years of varied and multifaceted litigation experience, representing clients in cases involving securities law, mining, theft of trade secrets, conspiracy, defamation and slander, fraud, professional liability claims, and business torts. More recently, Carey developed a practice acting for clients in the cannabis industry in Canada and the United States. His clients range from large organizations to individuals, and he has appeared at all levels of court in Canada, and in the US courts as well.

Carey also acted for lawyers in the breakup of three prominent law firms. He also defends lawyers in discipline cases brought by the Law Society of British Columbia. Prior to joining Cassels, Carey was a Founder at a boutique litigation firm based in Vancouver which he managed.
