Aye-Lama Bah

Aye-Lama Bah (she/her/hers) is a member of the 2025-2026 Articling Student class at Cassels. She graduated cum laude from the French Common Law program at the University of Ottawa and is fully bilingual in French and English, with strong ties to the francophone community.

Before joining Cassels, Aye-Lama worked at the Supreme Court of Canada as Coordinator of the Law Clerk Program, where she streamlined recruitment processes and enhanced candidate experience. She later served as a research assistant, supporting the editing of judgments through comprehensive research on legislation, case law, academic commentary, and international materials.

During law school, Aye-Lama served as National Director of Advocacy for the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada, launching its first podcast and organizing events with parliamentarians to advance diversity and inclusion. She also contributed as an Associate Editor for the Ottawa Law Review and participated in multiple moot competitions, earning top awards in factum writing and oral advocacy at the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law Moot.

Her community involvement includes volunteering at St. Joe’s Women’s Shelter and supporting youth through the Youth Futures Program, an initiative designed to support high school students in developing essential skills for post-secondary education and employment.

Outside of work, Aye-Lama enjoys photography, Latin music, and dancing Cuban salsa and bachata.
